Jin Shin Jyutsu
A brief history
Jin Shin Jyutsu is an innate human ability to help oneself and others by placing the hands on specific parts of the body.
For a long time, knowledge of this healing method was only passed on orally, and over time much of it was forgotten.
People forgot how to connect with themselves, listen to their intuition, and trust their abilities. Nevertheless, we all still use our hands intuitively and unconsciously every day to help and heal ourselves.
According to ancient Japanese records (Kojiki), this healing method was already widespread long before the time of Moses. At the beginning of the 20th century, Jiro Murai experienced the healing power of the hands on his own sick body and dedicated his life to researching and writing down this ancient knowledge. Mary Burmeister went to Japan in the late 1940s, where she met Jiro Murai and became his student. When she returned to America in 1953, she brought this knowledge with her. Over the decades, she continued to study and translated the knowledge not only into English but also into our Western understanding of the world.

What is Jin Shin Jyutsu?
The body's energy system
In addition to the familiar systems such as the blood circulation and nervous system, our body also has an energy system. It brings life to our body – it builds, nourishes and regenerates us.
There are 26 energy centres within the energy channels – these are called safety energy locks – on each side of the body. These locks function like a fuse – if something goes wrong in the system, they can close to prevent further damage.
Stress, physical strain, overload, an unhealthy lifestyle and ingrained ways of thinking contribute to us losing our balance.
By placing our hands on ourselves, we activate our self-healing powers and the blockages dissolve. Holding certain combinations of energy locks brings us back into a healthy emotional, mental and physical balance.
Self-application
First things first:
‘There is not a single area in which Jin Shin Jyutsu cannot help you.’
‘YOU cannot do anything wrong.’
‘Any conventional medical treatment can be supported with Jin Shin Jyutsu.’
The simplest and most effective form of self-help is daily finger streaming. Simply hold one finger after another for several minutes and you will soon see the changes in your life!
To learn more, YOU can purchase one of the many self-help books available or attend a self-help course. For personal advice, YOU can also contact an experienced practitioner in your area. Whatever is right for YOU!
Treatment with the practitioner
The treatment process varies. There is often a short preliminary discussion, followed by the treatment, and finally you will receive one or two tips for home use, if you wish.
You lie down fully clothed on your back on a comfortable treatment couch. If you like, you will be given a pillow under your head, a half-roll under your knees and a blanket to cover yourself with. You then lie there for about an hour and can relax completely.
Treating animals
Jin Shin Jyutsu works particularly well on animals. The next time you cuddle your pet, simply rest your hands on any part of its body and feel into it. How does your pet react? Does it like it and snuggle up into your hands, or does it change position? Just let it happen.
If you would like to learn more and are looking for specific help for your animal, simply contact an experienced practitioner or attend a course for animals yourself!
